Welcome to

Come enjoy a small yet beautiful piece of Newfoundland scenery. The Feather & Folk festival makes a great time for any family to enjoy some of Newfoundland’s nature, while having fun and learning a lot at the same time. Whether you are actively interested in birding, you’re a huge nature lover or you just want to interact with a piece of Newfoundland’s beauty and culture, the Feather & Folk Festival is an excellent place to be.

Over the course of ten days you will get to go birding with the experts in Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier birding destination, and discover new colonies of seabirds by land and sea. There will also be a series of cultural events and activities for anyone to partake in throughout the week; there is something for everyone at the Feather & Folk Festival!

This year, the Feather and Folk Festival hopes to build events into our communities’ schools! Schools of all grades and ages will be incorporated with activities like coloring contest’s and reports! Stay tuned to see what else we have in store!
Also be on the lookout for our Piping Plover friend Sandy. Sandy is the Feather and Folk Festivals mascot, as well as a familiar bird face in our area of the province. Last year Sandy went to Francois to visit the student who gave him his name, and visited with the other children as well, giving everyone activity books and candy. Sandy also stopped in Burgeo to play with kids at the park, so keep your eyes open and you can meet Sandy too!

All the action begins May.21st, and continues on until May.30th, so you have lots of time to catch as many events as you can : ).

It’s not only about what we know when it comes to Springfest, we want to know what you have to say about it too! We encourage you guys to do some blogging and send it to us, your blog will be featured on the Springfest website!

More details will be flying your way soon!
